Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing 2026 will be held from April 10 to 12, 2026, at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) in Beijing.
As one of Asia's largest and most commercially successful specialized flower and horticulture trade shows, the Hortiflorexpo IPM has successfully hosted 27 editions. The 2024 edition in Beijing attracted over 700 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions, drawing over 80,000 visitors. The upcoming 2026 event will showcase the entire floral industry chain. Spanning three days, it promises richer content, trendier innovations, advanced product technologies, and aesthetically pleasing yet functional exhibition environments. It will serve as a vital platform for exhibitors to meet new and existing clients, explore fresh market opportunities, and engage in in-depth industry exchanges. This event offers an exceptional chance for exhibitors to interact face-to-face with customers and consumers while gathering valuable feedback.
New horticultural products are visually appealing and highly profitable for businesses
New varieties have always been the highlight of flower exhibitions, not only for their visually appealing “aesthetic appeal,” but more importantly, as a source of “profit.” Since the home gardening market gained momentum in 2015, new varieties have consistently occupied the pinnacle of the profit pyramid. The emergence of new products drives consumer trends and enriches the floral market's offerings. This year's exhibition will feature a dedicated new varieties section showcasing numerous premium and rare cultivars, effectively serving as an unspoken “trend forecast showcase.”
Looking back at the The 26th Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing held in Beijing, the new varieties section alone featured over 40 breeders and seedling suppliers showcasing nearly 500 new and superior floral varieties. These spanned multiple categories including cut flowers, potted plants, garden plants, and trending social media plants. Industry professionals explored the intricacies to seize business opportunities, while general visitors snapped photos to elevate their aesthetic appreciation and lift their spirits. These visually stunning new varieties not only captivate the eye but also serve as barometers for emerging trends in the horticultural industry.
Global floral giants bring overseas business opportunities
The international exhibition area has always been a highlight of the event. The 2024 International Flower Show attracted international exhibitors from over 20 countries including the Netherlands, Germany, South Korea, India, Italy, Sri Lanka, Spain, Poland, the United States, Israel, Russia, Finland, and Japan. Nearly 60 countries sent foreign visitors to attend and make purchases. Among them, the Dutch delegation and the IPM International delegation participated as official groups. The Dutch delegation comprised 38 participating companies, while the IPM International delegation brought together 17 enterprises. According to officials from the Great Wall Flower Show, this year's event is also expected to feature a Thai tropical plants delegation, with dozens of Thai companies showcasing trendy tropical plant products.
As a major global economy, China has become a destination for the transfer and export of varieties, technologies, products, and services from developed floral nations. Some neighboring countries with significant reliance on China's floral product market have experienced rapid economic growth, emerging as potential export destinations for Chinese floral products. Leveraging its vast consumer market and accelerated industrial development pace, the Chinese market holds increasing appeal for international businesses. These companies are actively investing in establishing subsidiaries or joint ventures domestically to cultivate the Chinese market.
Diverse Exhibitions and Concurrent Events Shine Together
As a comprehensive trade and exchange platform for the floral industry, the International Flower Exhibition attracted 700 domestic and international exhibitors in 2024. The scope of exhibits encompassed fresh-cut flowers, potted plants, seeds, bulbs, seedlings, garden plants, ornamental trees and shrubs, biotechnology, engineering design and construction, floral supplies, home gardening materials, garden equipment and tools, production materials, flower preservation, greenhouse environmental control and logistics systems, chemical agents, and other industry-related and supporting products.
During the exhibition, alongside a rich display of floral and horticultural products, visitors can enjoy activities such as floral arrangement performances, themed forums, a new retail e-commerce conference, and hands-on craft experiences. With the support of e-commerce platforms like Taobao and Xiaohongshu, the event promises to introduce fresh innovations. If the exhibits represent the exhibition's visual banner, the activities form its spiritual core. These activities will address hot industry topics, focus on core industrial issues, and delve into consumer market demands. While continuing the exhibition's strong programs, they will actively expand industry boundaries, adding new experiences in garden, e-commerce, and media interaction segments. Moreover, according to officials from the International Flower Show, this year's event will innovatively feature a market trade zone to facilitate public browsing and purchasing.
